Group of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal implemented a project entitled "Sustainably Uplifting PVSE's Prosperity through Enterprise Realization (SuPPER) Project" in partnership with CARE Nepal since 2017-2019. The project aims to promotion of resilient livelihood, enhancing resilient agricultural practice and disaster-resilient agricultural infrastructure construction. Another major component of the project was Gender Equality and Social Inclusion from which 14 HHs became able to register the land in between husband and wife-enhancing women's access to land and property rights. Women were able to claim equal rights in the property, enhanced decision-making at the household level, increased ownership towards land making women feel confident and empowered.
SAHAS Nepal in partnership with CARE Nepal organised appreciation program on 28 December 2019 for appreciating all 14 couples who jointly registered land between husband and wife. The couples were exemplary for the social change and way towards acquiring gender equality.
SAHAS Nepal has started to incorporate the Joint Land Registration concept in other programmes and projects for enhanced women access to the right to property and increased ownership towards land.
