In a collaborative effort with SAHAS Nepal, Palika, and various Civil Society Organisations, two wards of Naraharinath Palika have been officially declared Child Marriage Prohibition Zones. This significant milestone was celebrated with a signatory campaign and a series of awareness-raising events to reinforce the commitment to eradicating child marriage in the community.
The program was chaired by the respective ward chairperson, with Karnali Province Parliament Member, Honorable Hikmat Bdr. Bista, serving as the chief guest. Joining the event were key leaders from the Palika, including the chairperson, vice chairperson, ward chairpersons, and representatives from civil society organizations actively engaged in local development efforts.
Building on this success, the Palika has announced plans to gradually expand the Child Marriage Prohibition Zone initiative across additional wards, paving the way for a stronger, safer future for its youth.
