Province-Level Learning and Sharing Seminar of the CRV Project

  • 3rd Nov, 2026

SAHAS Nepal, in partnership with SODI, ADH and Nepalteam Germany, organised a Province-Level Learning and Sharing Seminar under the Climate Resilient Livelihood for Vulnerable and Marginalised Communities of Karnali Province (CRV) project in Surkhet on 13 October 2026. The seminar brought together 62 participants, including 34 females and 28 males, representing provincial government agencies, municipalities and rural municipalities of Surkhet and Dailekh, Community-Based Organisations (CBOs), Community-Based Network Organisations (CBNOs), and like-minded organisations working in the project areas.

The programme was chaired by Janga Bahadur Shahi, Chairperson of Mahabu Rural Municipality, with Dr. Chandra Prasad Risal, Secretary of the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives (MoLMAC), Karnali Province, as the Chief Guest. The seminar highlighted the project's key achievements, lessons learned and best practices. Presentations included insights into future collaboration with MoLMAC by its Crop Protection Officer and experiences and learning on community seed banks shared by LI-BIRD.

The seminar provided a valuable platform for sharing experiences, recognising the contributions of government agencies, development partners and project beneficiaries, and exploring opportunities to sustain the project's achievements. Participants discussed recommendations to strengthen coordination, enhance collaboration and promote climate-resilient agriculture and sustainable livelihoods in the project areas.

Key learnings from the seminar highlighted that sustaining climate-resilient livelihood interventions requires strong coordination among provincial and local governments, community institutions and development partners. Participants emphasised the importance of strengthening local ownership, integrating successful interventions into local development plans and building the capacity of community institutions to ensure continuity beyond the project period.
