SAHAS Nepal successfully organised a Travelling Seminar with the honorable participation of distinguished Mayors, Deputy Mayors, Rural Municipality Chairpersons, and Vice-Chairpersons from Karnali, alongside representatives from the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Co-operatives and the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forests, and Environment, as well as Ward Chairpersons.
The seminar offered a platform to witness the transformative impact of leasehold farming through Climate Resilient Livelihood for vulnerable and marginalised communities of Dailekh and Surkhet district project, implemented in partnership with SODI, Aktion Deutschland Hilft, and Nepalteam Germany. Leasehold farming has brought sustainable livelihood opportunities to landless and marginalised communities, driving economic empowerment, social change, and dignified life.
Inspired by the remarkable changes observed, the Province-level Agriculture Development Division has committed to allocate a 50% subsidy to further strengthen and expand leasehold farming practices.
